Likes: Inflicting pain, killing slowly, and generally being a complete and utter swine. Is quite fond of ginger-headed females. ‘Fond’ may not be a strong enough word here; he’ll probably invest a good deal of time trying to get them to do questionable things with him, completely ignoring all the more important things he should be taking care of at that moment. He also enjoys tampering with biological sciences, mainly for the purpose of creating violent, twisted monsters , which he regards as cute. Other than that, he really doesn’t care for much else. What a loser, huh?

Dislikes: Bane. Cats. Especially YOUR cat. Okay, moving on to things that actually relate to the tournament… Hates heroes, clergy, and humans with an extra keenness. He does not tolerate jokes made at his expense, and defiant people are going to receive more of his violent attention than submissive ones. Naturally, he also dislikes it when people screw with his plans for world domination.

Personality: Generally calm and proud, he considers all others to be beneath him. However, his serene personality is replaced by a more eccentric, sadistic keening when he has victims to kill or black experiments to work on, or if he gets enough coffee in him, but that's another matter. He also tends to get rather violent and sarcastic if someone mocks or defies him. Yet, for the most part, he is relaxed, brutally efficient, and possesses a rather dark sense of humor. Unlike most evil overlords, he often ranges into the field himself, rather than merely letting his cronies do all the dirty work.

Despite his savage behavior, however, he generally doesn't hurt women and children, unless the women act unladylike (ie, punching him in the face when he tries to seduce them) or the kids aren't really kids (such as, say, a zombie child that was actually several hundred years old).

When not involved in monitoring the entrants, he’s likely to be found reading, working on his experiments, or killing something. Or possibly abusing Legion for ‘looking creepy.’

Abilities: Shape shifting and a potent skill in demonic magic.

- Shape shifting: Asmodeus’s powers in this regard are not due to magic or anything like, but rather due to what he is; drakes are first and foremost a race of shifters. Shifting into other shapes requires an expenditure of energy that correlates to the strength or size of what he's becoming, and accordingly, he can stay in very powerful or very small forms for only a brief amount of time before he must revert due to exhaustion. While he can shift into a virtually limitless variety of forms, he, like most drakes, generally only turns into a small handful of favorite forms—in this case, his draconic form and a red-winged blackbird.

In some ways, the former of these two can be considered his 'real' form as much as his more human shape, and accordingly it drains him less to assume it than it would if he turned into something else of equal size and power. Asmodeus generally assumes this shape to squish his victims before he brings them home to kill them in a more elaborate and painful manner than mere claws can inflict. Since his draconic form is designed for aerial combat, he is at his most lethal while in the air, and thus much easier to fight while grounded (although being 'easier' isn't saying much). He will always try to get into the air during a fight.

On the other hand, he is very easy to beat up when he's a cute little blackbird. Accordingly, he only turns that way when he goes spying.

- Magic: Asmodeus's other strength is that of a spellcaster: he is most specialized in dark wind and fire magic (big shocker, I know). Naturally, he prefers to stay away from you during the casting process, as while he can whip up some runes fairly quickly, his more deadly incantations are going to take a good deal of focus and thus don’t do well with interruptions—in other words, he’ll be fighting from far range. A rough estimate says that about half his arcane powers are innate, and the other half relies on demonic magic.

Equipment: Due to being an insane dragon and sorcerer and all, Asmodeus quite frankly IS his own weapon. The only item he bothers to carry on him is a knife, generally hidden inside his coat, which he uses on fallen victims if there’s no way to get them home to his more elaborate torture chambers. Sometimes one has to take what one can get.

Clothing: I suppose what I’ve drawn him in could be considered his casual mode of dress. He probably wears fancier things, but I really, really fail at outfit design and couldn’t think of any to share with you. If you can think of something nicer, go ahead and draw it. On a side note, those ceremonial-looking robes he’s wearing in the chibi picture are bloody cute. Just reminding you of this. Ahem.

Strengths: Dudes, he is a DRACONIC SHAPE-SHIFTING MAGIC USER. Do I really need to add anything here?

Weaknesses: At close range, he is actually quite vulnerable to attack, both physical and other. If someone has the ability to get inside his mind and poke around his memories, he will similarly not be pleased. He also dislikes water; while he can keep himself afloat, he’s by no means a skilled swimmer. Plus, wet hair doesn’t look very menacing. He also hates guns and any idiot who wields them, as they are a long-range physical attack and thus one of the greatest threats to him while he’s in his more human form.

Despite being vulnerable to attack, he has high pain tolerance and will refuse to be anything but the vain loser he is even when badly hurt. He’ll keep fighting until either he physically can’t continue or his opponent is dead or dying.

Background: A merciless sadist who is quite fond of killing slowly, Asmodeus is the lovely emperor in charge of the realm that the 'firewind' supposedly afflicts. He has held the human residents of that place under his thumb for a long time indeed, using his slaves for every dark purpose imaginable; and it seems that finally, due to the bleak atmosphere of that place, the rate at which their population regenerates has dipped below the rate at which he slaughters them.
Having as large a territory to rule as he does, Asmodeus keeps control of his country thanks to the loyal beings he considers his 'true' citizens; primarily sentient races usually considered dark by humans, ranging from goblins to minor dragons to undead. However, for one reason or another none of these sentient beings seem to be around his castle at the moment, leaving him alone with Legion and his dear experiments for company. Perhaps he didn't feel like sharing the few slaves he has remaining...
He's also more prone to let people with red or black hair and green eyes off the hook. Rumors say that he used to be quite kind to humans and taught them to live in peace with his current citizens, but began his current dark reign after they murdered his wife and son. No one can confirm this, however, and if you suggest it he'll probably snort and set you on fire.
